OurDNA is a flagship project of the Centre for Population Genomics, a collaboration between the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne.
We’re working with our community partners to increase the representation of Australian multicultural communities in the genomic resources and databases used to diagnose and predict illness.
This page is intended for researchers and clinicians. If you are part of one of our OurDNA communities and would like to learn more about the program, visit the Building better resources for health and medical research page.
The OurDNA Browser is an open-access genome reference database designed for researchers and clinicians to use to identify or study health conditions. No individual-level data is shared in this database.
The first version of the OurDNA Browser was launched in August 2025.
OurDNA Data is a secure bank of biological and health information to support future approved medical research that meets criteria developed with OurDNA’s multicultural advisors.
It is a controlled-access repository of community members’ de-identified individual-level genomic information for future research, available according to their consent. No personal details of the people who have taken part in OurDNA are included.
OurDNA Samples is a secure bank of blood, blood cell, and DNA samples that have been donated for future medical research.
