Professor of Human Genetics, University of Chicago
John Novembre is a Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Chicago, whose research integrates computational biology, population genetics, and statistical genetics to advance our understanding of human evolution, migration, and disease. His work has contributed both theoretical models and practical tools, particularly for understanding the geographic structure of genetic variation and the role of rare variants. Dr. Novembre’s work also engages with societal implications of genetic research. He has been awarded as a MacArthur Fellow, Searle Scholar, and Sloan Research Fellow, and his research is primarily supported by the National Institutes of Health. He also serves as an academic editor for the journal Genetics.
